First days after hair transplant

During the first few days after the hair transplant, we must take special care, especially in matters such as not touching the grafts, avoiding lowering our head, taking the prescribed medication or keeping the area clean and moisturised at all times. These first few days are crucial, which is why a 24-hour treatment is carried out in the clinic to check that everything is fine and to do a first wash. Afterwards, after 10 days, another treatment is carried out where the scabs that have not yet fallen off are removed.

During the first two weeks after surgery, it is common to feel some discomfort such as itching or swelling. This is normal, although if the symptoms persist, it is advisable to consult with the medical team.

Failure to follow medical instructions carries significant risks for graft survival, which may lead to infections in the recipient area, excessive edema and swelling of the face, or symptoms such as pain.

Evolution of hair graft with a before and after before hair implant, at 6 months and at one year

First month after hair transplant

During the first month, new hair begins to grow. However, this does not last long as what is known as desert phase o Shock Loss. At this stage, the implanted hair falls out due to the stress that the scalp suffers during surgery, giving way to stronger and healthier hair. This happens because the hair falls out, but not the grafts. This is why we must remain calm and be patient.

From six months after the hair transplant

The following months the hair is in the growth phase. In the evolution of the hair graft after 6 months, a clear change can already be seen. At this time, the new hair is 50% complete, and a greater density can already be noticed in the treated area. In addition, the donor area has already recovered.

One year after hair transplant

The evolution of the hair graft ends one year after the intervention, at which time the results final results of the transplant. In patients with a crown, the final results are given at 18 months.
